Day 783 - Close Up

Working on my Project 52 assignment, "Close Up".  My family jokes about how I use to shoot "bugs" all the time.  I actually haven't had the Macro Lens out in awhile, so this assignment is fun.  Not sure I will use this one, and I have a few more days to shoot.  However, it is my favorite from today.

Day 777 - Spring Showers

Was hoping to get out and get some shots of the bluebonnets this afternoon, but a spring shower and windy conditions resulted in some not so great macro shots.  However, I did like these two shots of the yellow flowers with the raindrops on them.

Day 776 - Cat Purse

Our cat loves laying in an open purse or backpack.
I think Jenga missed me.  Looking forward to some camera-time tomorrow.

Day 775 - Poker Face

When the world is turned upside down by adult issues, an eight-year old (who is going to build his first car with Firebird and Camero parts, BTW) with an XXX-Large shirt can bring out a smile.

Day 774 - My Dad

There has been a gap in my photoblog the past few four days.  My father passed away and while my camera has been with me, have really not felt like picking it up.  I truly was lucky to have one of the most wonderful fathers in the world.  I want to share the slide show I did in his honor.  May my father be at peace.  I am thankful for my family, and can only say I am proud to be the daughter of this amazing man.

Day 773 - Holding Hands since 1944

My parents tonight, are facing another challenge in the life they have built with each since they were 16.   This picture of their hands is nothing amazing, but it symbolizes to me the strength they have for each other.  As they move through this journey, I remember something my father wrote in my mother's high school yearbook, "May our friendship be everlasting."   It has been.

Day 768 - Shadow Pose

Thinking guys are just not "represented" enough in photographs.
Decided to feature the only male model from this weekend seminar.
Saving for that 24-70 Nikon Lens now.
So many "I wants" got added from this weekend!

Day 763 - Thumbs Up!

No time to spend with my camera tonight as I have lots to deal with at work.
Thumbs up to the three of you who get it and made me laugh today !
Sometimes if it is not fun, you have to make it that way!

Day 758 - Painted Sky

It was a warm, beautiful day.  A cold front is coming in this evening which brought some clouds and a beautiful sky at sunset.

Day 756 - The Next Great Idea

Umm...Gathering items and ideas for the next Project 52 Assignment.
All these food shots are making me hungry!

Day 755 - "Chocolate"

Well, here are the final two that I submitted this afternoon for my Project 52 Assignment, "Chocolate".  Still feel like it needs some work, but it is better than what I started with initially.  It definitely took a great deal of work with getting the lighting.  I wanted to keep working on it, but did not want to run up against the deadline and miss the critique.  Besides two more projects have already been "assigned"....so I need to begin working on them.  Shooting "food" is challenging to be sure!  For the record, the bottom photo was taken today.  Staying true to the "365 Blog" goal.

Day 754 - Yep...Missed It!

You know...sometimes you just want to get "that shot" at a sporting event of
"that person".  Had my camera set perfectly today waiting...got distracted by shooting a fellow team member, and missed the shot.  Disappointed, but happy he had a great time.  May my camera (and my brain) be faster next time!

Here is a LINK to the shots from today from the Frost Your Fanny Duathlon.
Congratulations to the Texas Tech team.  You all were awesome!

Day 749 - Making my way to work...

Stopped at a light on my way to work,
and I noticed  the car in front of me.
Thought about the driver and think they must eat overpriced organic foods,
but may want to hang out more with them than those with
the "My kid is an honor student" bumper stickers.

Day 747 - Bacon Roses

My son has come up with a creative alternative to red roses this Valentines Day.
He made Bacon Roses for his girlfriend (who loves bacon, of course!)
Good job thinking outside of the box!

Day 746 - Coming up for Air

Tend to shoot a lot of swimmers, and somehow never get tired of trying to attempt this shot when a backstroker make their turns off the wall.  You have to catch "just" the moment with the bubble as it happens very quickly, and nine times out of ten they don't turn out.
I like this one I took today.
Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Regional meet today!

Day 745 - Market Color

Headed to the Market Place in San Antonio with the swim team this afternoon.
Loved the colors in the shops on the sidewalks.

Day 744 - Timer Set

Got to get to REGIONALS!

Day 743 - Front Cover - Project 52

I have a completely new respect for those who shoot Editorial Portraits.
Not easy for sure.  You just want to get it so perfect, but there are so many constraints.
Thanks to John for being such a great sport on this!

Day 741 - My Subject

On Wednesday, he has agreed to be my "subject" for Project 52.
Lots to think about to get ready.  Hoping my softbox is here in time!
