So I was quite busy this evening in my kitchen but wanted to play with my new SB-600 Flash with my Macro Lens.....so decided to have some fun with the pistachios and a Sharpie.

Day 184 - Practical Photography

Practical Photography

Coming home tonight, there was a rainbow...and I had my camera in the passenger seat and shot some pictures.  However, when I got home tonight and was cooking dinner, I noticed a giant water stain and bubble in my ceiling right below the air conditioner.  This photograph is how my son and I communicated with my husband who is out of town to solve the problem.   I thought this picture did a lot of work today...so it should be honored with the picture of the day.

Day 183 - Half Way There!

It has been a fun half-year of pictures and spending time with my camera.
I have learned a lot from the internet sites and others who have blogs and just love to take pictures.  I am hoping the next half year is as fun, colorful, and filled with creativity.

I have lots to learn and am enjoying the journey behind the lense.

Just found something on Twitter called the Dailyshoot which sends out a photo challenge everyday.  I found it on someone else's 365 Photoblog and thought it sounded like something I would try to keep it interesting.  I don't usually post more than one picture a day to this blog, but thought I would post a few today since I was trying out the Dailyshoot.

Todays Shoot: Rotate your camera today a bit and make a slightly off-angle photograph. Use the angle to emphasize your subject.

So I tried some shots of one of our cats this morning with my Nikkor Macro Lens.  Now, if I could just figure out how to Twitter....

Quick stop at Mayfield Park this morning to try to get a few pictures for the weekend challenge "bloom" before the rain came, and caught this turtle swimming among the lily pads.
