On my way to a run on Town Lake this morning...and was faced with road closures due to the triathlon. Had my camera...so decided to take pictures instead of running (ran this afternoon at the gym).

I have this bird I like to photograph at the Arboretum. He hangs out in the same place and has appeared before in my 365 Project. He doesn't like the camera much. However, tonight, he was looking at me one moment...and working those feathers the next! Doesn't even look like the same bird!

Shot this picture of a blooming Magnolia through my sunroof this morning on my way to work. There are a few trees along the way that I have been admiring, so I thought I would catch a bloom this morning before they are gone, and I this bloom is every bit as beautiful as yesterday's post was not....and the bee was a bonus!

BACKSTROKE!
A full weekend of swimming with a summer league meet and a club meet.
It is all good, but I wish it was summer and school was out.

It is 10:45 pm....and I am baking a cake for my freshman son to ice in the morning and to take to school. Not many pictures today, but glad the freshman is in my life to make it interesting.

Friends boating on Friday evening on Lake Austin.
It is 92 degrees and summer is almost upon us.
Patrick arrived home after finishing his freshman year of college.

Reflections on 100 days of my 365 day Photo Project.
Everyone who I know who has done this has said the experience has made them see everything so differently. I so agree. It has been awesome so far. Looking forward to the next 265 days!

I knew there was a small pond by my office with a running trail, but never really made it there until today at lunch. It is a really fun spot with lots of plants, flowers, and waterlife. The sun was really bright, so it was probably not the ideal time to take pictures, but I did take my camera. I liked this one of the white flowers blooming by the lake. Thought I would also through in a "bonus" shot today of some of the wildlife there. In this picture are ducks, koi, and a turtle. See them all?
Nice break, but back to work!

After many trys yesterday in photographying flying birds, I read an article on the subject (after the fact of course) about using my "S" setting and setting my camera manually on a high shutter mode. I haven't had much time to practice, but I did try on this one and noticed better results even though the birds are far away. I look forward to this week and trying this again.

I take REALLY bad bird pictures, but I like taking them, and I want to get better. After a really bad session in the morning, this female cardinal (and I know that as I now have a bird identification book) showed up and sat on a low branch while I shot away. So in Zilker Park Gardens this afternoon there were many great photo opportunities, but this is my picture of the day!
