So much to do today at work and at home, but took some time with my macro lens and shot some pictures of my grandmother's clock in my diningroom.  Just a reminder to myself that time is pretty precious so use those moments wisely!

Neglected Friends

In the past several weeks, I have been so busy with work, family, pictures, and throw a vacation in there that I have not been running much.  I miss it and feel awful.  So that ends today, and I am lacing up my running shoes this morning.  YES!!!

Bad Hair Day...
I took this picture in my front yard this morning.  I got some great bird pictures.  This one is not the best, but it makes me laugh as the wind was really blowing this cardinals feathers around.

Used my macro lens for this picture of a flower that was given to me as a "thank you".  I really need to have a tripod on these macro shots as I do have "camera" shake.  For this shot, I layed the flower on the counter and put the camera there as well instead of getting my tripod out.

Didn't want to miss my blog tonight.  One of the "weekend challenges" was TRAINS...so I took this picture of a painted train outside of Baton Rouge today on our road trip!

Macro is not necessarily easy.  I am doing "Assignments" from a book I purchased and the results are posted online for review.  This one had to do with taking pictures of M & M's, skittles, or other candy. This is my favorite.  I must have taken over 400 pictures and saved 15.  All good!

This one was taken by me (with my elbow anchored on the counter) of my finger.   I like the "background" which is actually my laptop screen.

This is a shot of some wet M&M's on a mirror that I was taking as part of my "macro" assignment.  I was kind of rushed and am going to try this one again tonight or tomorrow using a tripod as there was some camera shake on this one so I am not posting to the assignment website.  I think I can do better than this.

For the record, this was my first weekend to really try to get some pictures of birds.  I was out at Mayfield Park in the early AM.  Lots of birds, and lots of bad pictures.  I am determined to get better at this!

"panning"

After work, I got to my car grabbed my camera and thought I would practice some "panning" with the cars that went by.  They probably thought I was crazy.  I did have to slow down my shutterspeed...but I did like the results as it did reflect the motion.
